Built to tackle and tame the urban jungle, this unique custom took inspiration from the tough, rugged military bikes of decades gone by, with added modern flair. Part bobber, part tracker, all head turner.

It’s one thing to draw up a design on paper, it’s a whole other challenge actually making it a reality. A lot of fabrication and modification went into this build, with a few changes along the way. But that’s all part of the game, and why we do what we do!!

How many times have we heard this phrase verbatim since we completed the build? Countless. This is Australia’s (and possibly the World’s) first rigid frame Street 500. Who needs paint when you can make a bare metal tank look this good? And when you accentuate it with custom copper-plated features? Magic. This little bobber turns heads and draws crowds every place she’s rumbles up to. True old-skool cool.

Toxic Avenger

Like some sort of deranged swamp beast dragged from the murky depths to fight dastardly criminals and protect everyday citizens like you and me – the Toxic Avenger is nothing short of Beastly. The terrifying growl it emits when you pull the throttle you’ll be forgiven for mistaking it for a bike much bigger than a 500.

The one-of-a-kind handmade exhaust was meticulously pieced together from individually laser cut sections of stainless pipe, and gives off a freakin incredible growl. The frame was chopped in half and rebuilt as a hardtail (certified by a licensed engineer). We took a King Sportster tank, chopped it in half and widened it, modifying it to fit the frame. The rusted out patina finish coated in a high gloss gives it a truly unique look.

The Yamaha Bolt – the Japanese Sportster. As close to a Harley without being a Harley as you can get, really. Not as big as a 48 (950cc) but still plenty of pull to get you to where you wanna go. And they make for a pretty rad custom too.

As well as some serious cosmetic mods, this blacked out tarmac-tearer is also fitted with a TBR air filter & full exhaust system, as well as a Dynojet Power Commander – she flies, and sounds like an absolute beast. Check out the vid below to hear her growl..

When our client initially proposed the colour scheme for this bike, suffice to say I was not too enthusiastic… “Fluoro Yellow – are you sure, dude??” The last thing he wanted was a “YamaHarley”, so yeah – he was sure. Beefy, low, mean, black, aggressive… all key descriptives used in the brief. And Fluoro Yellow Wheels. Yep.

I was skeptical from the beginning, not entirely sure I would like this build. But now that it’s finished, I love it. It grew on me as the build progressed, and damned if I wouldn’t love to have this sitting in my garage at home!!

First thing was first, get it as low as we can. The exhaust needed to be distinct and loud enough to turn a few heads, but he didn’t want the pipes to be a feature, instead we discreetly hid the muffler underneath the chin spoiler, which was a one-off handmade for this build. It was also important to fatten up the forks, so a set of fork sleeves were custom made to give the front end a nice beefy look. There was a bit of work in getting them to fit without bottoming out, but we got there!

The next challenge was giving the bike that low bobber look, whilst allowing for a pillion at the same time – who doesn’t want the opportunity to throw a pretty girl on the back of your sweet custom to show off?! So shorty shocks, a custom re-enforced fender and hand made one-off seat were fashioned to fit.

Next the colour scheme – matching yellow pinstripes as highlights to compliment the powdercoated wheels, matte black sides, and a matte charcoal finish on the top of the tank.

We’ve built nearly a dozen of these Street 500’s but they’ve all been in a bobber style – so it was a refreshing change to be able to sink our teeth into something different. This wicked little cafe racer was designed and built for a client in Melbourne, he had a pretty clear vision in mind, and suffice to say our boys have absolutely nailed it.

Keep an eye out for it burning around Melbourne’s streets hitting up cafe after cafe.

The Preacher

Sinner or Saint? A little bit of both are at the heart of this build. Like a gun-toting, cigarette-smoking, bourbon-swilling Man of the Lord. Don’t piss him off – he’ll knock out your teeth before praying for your soul.

Our first hardtail Street 500 “Copperhead” proved incredibly popular, and it wasn’t long before we were approached to build another, this time with more modern styling and appeal.

As I Walk Through the Valley…

“Everything I own is Black or White” states the client. Black & White it is then. We couldn’t just opt for a flat white either. This bike had to pop.

Big. Wheels. These monsters were sourced by the good lads at Rollies Speed Shop, and although they cost a pretty penny were definitely a worthwhile investment. 21″ on the front, 18″ on the rear, and wrapped in Avon Cobra rubber.
