The proud owner of Tex-Design is Paolo Tex, who had a dream of developing the famous American two-cylinder motorcycle.

In the middle of 2015, Paolo Tex came up with the idea to modify the Buell motorcycle with the latest innovations to make it unique. With this dream in mind, he spent twelve months working on a meticulous design based on virtual modeling systems, using CNC technologies and 3D printing methods. This allowed Tex-Design to create aesthetic and structural parts that were intricate in all their details.

Every design that Tex-Design created had to be in perfect harmony with the mechanical component of the motorcycle for maximum functionality. In a motorcycle, style and functionality go hand in hand; therefore, every aesthetic element had to be in perfect consonance with the mechanical part.

Instead of a traditional front, Tex-Design came up with an unusual idea for a telescopic fairing, the T.C.S. This system allowed Tex-Design to replace the front optical unit with a more aggressive look while still being closer to the wheel. Additionally, the structure that supports the slender rear body was perfectly studied, with part of it left exposed to the sides and becoming a style element.

The design of the Buell “XBUELL gcode 1.2” motorcycle by Tex-Design is reminiscent of cyborg themes, with perfect proportions that give the motorcycle a strong impact. The finished product is a work of art making a clear statement and leaving indelible memories.

Finally, the color chosen to finish the Buell “XBUELL gcode 1.2” motorcycle is an electric green, which adds an extra layer of originality and audacity to Tex-Design’s masterpiece.

The topic of Buell — along with the B-King, for whatever reason — has never left my mind and keeps haunting me constantly. After I sold the “smile now, cry later” (a KTM RC8R followed), which I regret deeply to this day, it became urgently necessary, after two years of Buell abstinence, for another Buell to take its place in my garage.

The key criteria for the search were quickly defined. Just as quickly, the inner demons were once again standing on the doorstep, eyes wide open, waiting expectantly.

An HPE end muffler was a must. A short tail and an SOC fairing were “nice to have”.

Searched for, found. But well cared for? Definitely not. A wrapped fairing where the film was coming off due to heat — no surprise. The heat protection mats were missing and, as I later discovered, the 1125CR had been ridden without the airbox cover in place. The tires were squared off, and the standard program (oil, oil filter, air filter, brake fluid, coolant, and spark plugs) was absolutely necessary in that condition.

A first! After the Buell broke down on me (I have NEVER broken down with any of my motorcycles) and the battery, quite literally, burned out, the electrics were revised in the garage together with friends and the battery was replaced.

Together with my son, the fairing was sanded down, painted, and completely converted to an SOC fairing. A new seat, a Wilbers shock, an LSL handlebar, as well as various motogadget components followed. After that came Beringer pumps and switches, Braking wave discs, an EBR brake caliper, steel-braided lines, an m-unit blue, a modified rotor, a stronger alternator, and a race ECU.

Since then, the voices of the inner demons have grown quieter again. But if you listen closely, you can still hear a faint whimper: “let me out.”

]]>Based on the legendary Buell X1, this build enhances the bike’s raw racing DNA while refining every detail for improved performance, handling, and visual impact.

At the core of this custom Buell lies an upgraded engine featuring “Thunderstorm” cylinder heads combined with the OEM fuel injection system, delivering sharper throttle response and increased power. Breathing is optimized through a Forcefinder air filter and a dedicated engine breather kit, while a Buell Race muffler paired with a 2.5-inch race manifold provides an aggressive sound and improved exhaust flow true to the Lightning Racer character.

The drivetrain and wheel setup emphasize both performance and stance. The original rear rim has been widened to 6.25 x 17 inches, allowing the use of a massive 200/50 ZR17 Metzeler Sportec M5 rear tire, matched with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire on Performance Machine (PM) rims. A revised original pulley and a redesigned drive sprocket with a CNC-machined cover ensure durability, alignment, and a clean mechanical finish.

Handling and suspension are a major focus of this build. The front fork features anodized fork tubes with DLC-coated sliders and progressive AST springs, offering improved responsiveness and control. These are paired with a custom RRC fork bridge, featuring triple clamping below and double clamping above, with adjustable wheel trail for precise geometry tuning. At the rear, an AST shock absorber provides full 3-way adjustability, including high- and low-speed compression and damping travel.

Braking performance matches the bike’s increased power and agility. Both front and rear are equipped with Braking Wave discs, supported by SM brakes, steel braided brake lines, and distinctive PAZZO brake and clutch levers in white, delivering excellent feel and consistent stopping power under aggressive riding conditions.

The rear section is unmistakably Speed of Color. A SOC custom rear part with integrated rear light creates a clean and modern silhouette, complemented by a handcrafted SOC leather seat. Rider ergonomics are enhanced with LSL rear controls, while the cockpit features an LSL Fatbar handlebar (28.5 mm) in carbon, fitted with Rizoma Sport Line grips for a premium tactile feel.

Visually, the bike stands out through its cohesive design and premium finishes. The SOC “Lightning” engine spoiler reinforces the racer identity, while the V-Rod headlight mounted in a CNC-milled GSG lamp holder adds a bold, modern front profile. Additional highlights include the RRC pulley cover, OEM swingarm with custom coating, and a range of exclusive extras such as the 99-look tank cover with integrated tank strips, SOC point cover, GSG brake expansion tank, one-off ignition lock holder, and GSG belt tensioner.

It was Paolo Tex, the owner of Tex-Design, who came up with the idea of developing the well-known American two-cylinder motorcycle, drawn by its impressive size and remarkable personality, using modern technologies to improve it in a unique way.

For a year, meticulously-conducted design work based on virtual modeling systems, CNC technologies, and 3D printing methods allowed Paolo Tex to create aesthetic and structural bike parts, emphasizing every detail of the motorcycle with great attention and care.

In the world of motorcycles, functionality and style should always go hand-in-hand, and each aesthetic element should perfectly complement the mechanical components, and vice versa.

Paolo Tex’s primary objective was to create a front design that would resemble the M-S4R’s appearance but have a more innovative character. Hence, he created the telescopic fairing system, known as the T.C.S., which replaced the front optical unit with a different position, located closer to the wheel, providing a more aggressive look to the motorcycle.

Even the support structure for the rear body has a unique design, with part of it remaining exposed on the sides, adding to the stylish appearance of the bike.

The end result is the perfect combination of cyborg style themes with ideal proportions that create a strong visual impact, making the Buell “XBUELL gcode 1.2” something special. The final touch to this remarkable motorcycle is the bright orange electric paint finish applied to the vehicle to emphasize its unique style even further.

Tex-Design has successfully modified the Buell “XBUELL gcode 1.2” motorcycle, adding important and innovative design elements to the bike while maintaining the functionality required in modern motorcycles. The impressive result will catch the eye of anyone who comes across this remarkable motorcycle on the street or in motorcycle exhibitions.

The Buell “XBUELL gcode 1.2” modified by Tex-Design is no longer a mere motorcycle, but rather a piece of art and a symbol of design, style, and modern technology.
