“IRON ANNIE” draws its inspiration from the iconic Junkers 52 Airplane from the 1930s, a symbol of aviation’s golden era.

What makes this masterpiece truly exceptional is the meticulous craftsmanship invested in every detail. Every component of “IRON ANNIE” is expertly handcrafted by the talented artisan known as Cello.

Using a sheet alloy as his canvas, Cello has sculpted a motorcycle that pays homage to the industrial aesthetics of the 1930s while embracing modern engineering and design.

The result is a one-of-a-kind BMW R 18 Conceptbike that seamlessly fuses vintage aviation design with cutting-edge motorcycle technology.

This BMW R18 “BOBBER STEEL” customized in the Lord Drake Kustoms motorcycle modification workshop in Spain, has been the first R18 that we modified and it will not be the last because we are already working on the customization of two other motorcycles of the same model of the German brand.

The first thing was to remove all the components of this custom BMW R18 just out of the official BMW motorcycle dealer. Once naked, we studied the possibilities and basically the geometry of the chassis and the type of fuel tank makes it clear that this bike can be modified in many ways, but the best style that can be given is that of a Bobber bike.

The bobber style fenders for BMW R18 have been the first thing we have installed (both front and rear). Then we have installed a tracker type handlebar, with new Motogadget risers and indicators and mirrors on the grips.

We have also modified the original exhaust pipe and installed new tailpipes that give this magnificent custom bike the sound it deserves.

The next thing was to manufacture a license plate bracket with side arm for BMW R18 bobber, where we have installed some indicators and led pilot light 3:1 kellerman. Other details to highlight are a radiator cover and adjustable levers for BMW R18 from the Wunderlich brand.

We have manufactured the base and support of the bobber seat for BMW R18; accompanied by an upholstered seat finished in rhombuses or diamonds.

The non-painted finish (in pure metal) of the fuel tank and some parts such as engine covers that we have painted in matt black powder paint.

‘Nordic Style’ parts

Body

There are some parts rearranged just a tad, just so that everything looks a bit different and tighter. The oil cooler got a slightly downwards angle to make it less significant. The rear fender was cut and slimmed and the sub frame was reworked to fit the flow, as well as the rear suspension was changed to an Öhlins damper to get the lower ride height.

Rim dimensions

Instead of the original 16” rear wheel and 19” in front, UCC went for 18” rear and 21” front.

Suspension and brakes

The inverted Öhlins fork looks great, and the original 300mm-disc brakes got changed to 340mm ISR discs with Brembo calipers. Not because it is needed, but simply because of the stance. The rear brake is still a 300mm disc and the original 4-piston caliper.

Headlights and handlebars

“The head light is a 5 ¾” instead of the 7” that is original”, says Ronna, who also made the handle bars.

Exhaust

The exhaust system is UCCs own design and the saddle was custom made by Silver Machine in Holland.

Paint

After painting the engine black, master painter Håkan Lindberg took care of the burnt orange you see on the tank.
