My Story
Hi, I’m Xavi, a web developer with a lifelong obsession for custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles. I split my life between Miami and Barcelona, two cities that constantly fuel my creativity and love for design and bikes.
For years, I built websites for other people. Project after project, I poured my skills into ideas that weren’t really mine—projects led by people who didn’t share the same drive, vision, or passion to truly grow something meaningful. Over time, that started to feel empty. I was creating, but I wasn’t building my own story.
That frustration planted a seed. I wanted to create something personal from the ground up—something I could grow, shape, and push forward with real purpose. And I knew it had to be connected to what I love most: custom motorcycles.
So I started searching online for inspiration. I spent hours looking for bikes that matched my taste and vision. But all I kept finding were choppers and café racers. Cool bikes, but not my bikes. The kind of builds that really move me—the bold, aggressive, modern custom V-Rods—were nowhere to be found.
That’s when I decided: if the platform I was looking for didn’t exist, I would build it myself.
My Expertise
I started this journey back in 2014. The website was originally called icustom.com
The first version was built on Joomla, and to my surprise, it got a really good response. People were connecting with the idea, and I felt for the first time that I was building something that mattered.In 2015, I took the next big step. I migrated the site to WordPress and renamed it DARK KUSTOM, as a tribute to Harley-Davidson’s Dark Custom edition. That name felt right. It matched the attitude, the style, and the kind of bikes I wanted to showcase.
From that moment on, the website never stopped evolving. It has gone through thousands of changes, tweaks, optimizations, and redesigns. Google doesn’t forgive anyone, so staying updated became a constant battle and motivation.
DARK KUSTOM has been a living project, growing, adapting, and improving year after year, just like the custom bikes it features.
My Mission
From the beginning, my goal was clear: to highlight the builders behind these incredible machines and to classify and organize custom motorcycles so other enthusiasts could discover them, get inspired, and find ideas for their own projects.
I didn’t just want a gallery of bikes—I wanted a place where craftsmanship, creativity, and identity were respected and celebrated.
Today, Dark Kustom is a growing hub for Harley enthusiasts from all over the world. It brings together web technology, my passion for motorcycles, and a strong desire to share knowledge about custom builds.
