The Buell 1125CR Cup Edition’ by Speed of Color is a radical custom motorcycle that takes the aggressive personality of the original 1125CR and pushes it much further.

Speed of Color has created a streetfighter that looks purposeful, muscular and absolutely unique, combining performance upgrades with race-inspired design. The result is a motorcycle that feels exclusive and instantly recognizable, especially thanks to its matt black, anthracite and red color scheme.

At the heart of the build is the powerful liquid-cooled 1125cc Helicon® V-twin engine, famous for strong torque delivery and sharp throttle response. Performance is enhanced with a K&N high-flow air filter system that helps the engine breathe more efficiently, while the HPE muffler delivers a deeper and more aggressive exhaust note. These changes give the Cup Edition a more responsive character and emphasize real-world riding performance rather than just appearance.

The visual identity of the bike is dominated by Speed of Color bodywork. It features the SOC “Storm” air box cover, the distinctive SOC cup fairing with front spoiler, and a matching SOC windshield. At the rear, SOC installs its “clean” rear section with integrated license plate lighting, paired with an adapted Buell XB-S seat. The paintwork is another highlight, finished in matt black, anthracite and red, with the design and lettering fully painted instead of relying on decals, underlining the craftsmanship of the build.

Chassis modifications also play an important role in the Cup Edition’s stance. The original rear rim has been widened to 6.25 x 17 inches and is fitted with a massive 200/50 ZR 17 Metzeler Sportec M1 rear tire, while the front uses a 120/70 ZR 17 tire of the same model. The motorcycle uses Buell XB-S rear struts with an adapter kit and adjusted rear components, giving the bike a broader, more powerful rear profile while maintaining the dynamic handling characteristics that Buell is known for. The fork, swingarm, pulley and pulley cover remain standard, preserving the structural integrity of the original chassis.

Rider controls are upgraded to improve both ergonomics and aesthetics. The bike features a Buell M handlebar of 28.5 mm, PAZZO brake and clutch levers, and a CNC-milled FREE SPIRITS footrest system. A Rizoma rear brake reservoir adds another premium touch. The cockpit itself stays mostly standard, retaining the functionality and clarity of the original Buell instruments while the new controls enhance riding feel.

Modern lighting technology is integrated into the design. The Cup Edition is equipped with front LED Pen-Head indicators and Kellermann Rhombus DF indicators at the rear, which also include brake and parking lights. The rear license plate light is elegantly integrated into the SOC tail. Subtle details like rim lettering complete the visual package and reinforce the impression that this machine is a carefully finished premium custom build.

In conclusion, the Buell 1125CR “Cup Edition” by Speed of Color represents an impressive fusion of American performance engineering and European custom design. It delivers a striking streetfighter look, a wider and more aggressive stance, quality components and unmistakable paintwork. This is not just a modified motorcycle; it is a distinctive statement piece for riders and collectors who want something rare, powerful and visually bold.
